After recenlty being exhibited in the Society of Botanical Artists Plantae exhibition, I am now offering this original painting on vellum for sale.
This is a flower very dear to my heart -  I first remember seeing it at the roadside when I arrived in Aberdeenshire, it was waving in the wind on on its delicate stems as I sped past to begin a new chapter in my life, which lasted for over 20 years. This delicate little flower has remained a firm favourite for me so I was delighted to paint it again.
The painting is on William Cowleys finest calfskin vellum, Cowley's  are the only make of this beautiful vellum in the world. This surface is a joy to paint on, it takes time and patience in the slow build up of dry brush work with fine layering of colour and detail but glows when finished.
 
The size of the image is 30.5 x  24 cm and the vellum is larger. Painted in watercolour.
